About Two Sisters Farm
Two Sisters Farm, located in beautiful Long Valley, New Jersey, sits atop historic Schooleys Mountain.
Two Sisters Farm began a new chapter earlier this year when sisters Rebekah Alstede Modery and Sarah Alstede, acquired this beautiful 100-acre property atop historic Schooleys Mountain in Long Valley, near Chester, where their family’s Alstede Farms operations are based. Both Rebekah and Sarah are second-generation farmers who grew up working along their family at Alstede Farms in Chester, New Jersey.
The Alstede family has a long history of farming in the Schooleys Mountain area. In 1983, their family purchased a small farm on Schooleys Mountain, a property that has been permanently preserved and continues to be farmed to this day, producing tree fruit and vegetables for the local community. Today, Rebekah and Sarah are beginning a new chapter of their own with the Two Sisters Farm property.
Rebekah Alstede Modery is a co-owner and manager of her family’s 800-acre farm, helping oversee more than 250 varieties of fruits and vegetables. Passionate about regenerative agriculture, she is committed to innovative farming practices that protect the land while helping build a sustainable food system for future generations.
Sarah J. Alstede is a co-owner and manager of Alstede Farms, where she helps oversee retail operations and agritourism experiences, including the farm’s renowned Pick-Your-Own program. Her hands-on experience, forward-thinking approach, and passion for connecting people with agriculture have shaped her role as a leader in the family business.
